Full Stack Developer Internship

We’re seeking a Full Stack Intern who can contribute to our React-based frontend and MongoDB backend. You’ll contribute directly to improving our geospatial dashboard and help structure APIs, data flow, and UI/UX.

Neural City is a civic data and AI startup solving real-world urban challenges—from road safety to sanitation—using AI, GIS, and community-driven data collection. Our platform features geospatial dashboards, real-time alerts, and AI models to make Indian cities more responsive, inclusive, and efficient.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Full Stack Intern who can contribute to our React-based frontend and MongoDB backend. You’ll contribute directly to improving our geospatial dashboard and help structure APIs, data flow, and UI/UX. 

 

Location

Remote, 3 to 6 Months

Responsibilities

  • Improve and extend our ReactJS frontend (geospatial dashboards, graphs, tables)

  • Integrate APIs for new backend features (hosted on Azure, written in FastAPI/NodeJS)

  • Work with geospatial data (GeoJSON, Mapbox/Leaflet) in the dashboard

  • Handle state management with Redux and build clean, modular components using Material UI

  • Consume backend APIs using Axios and TypeScript

  • Collaborate with the founding team to identify UI/UX and feature enhancements

  • If capable: assist in setting up CI/CD pipelines and Azure deployment workflows

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficient in ReactJS, Redux, and Material UI

  • Strong with JavaScript / TypeScript

  • Experience with Axios for API consumption

  • Familiarity with GeoJSON, Mapbox/Leaflet/OpenLayers (preferred)

  • Understanding of RESTful API principles

  • Bonus: Experience with FastAPI, MongoDB, or Azure (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB)

  • Prior work on data dashboards or mapping platforms

  • Interest in urban systems, civic tech, or gov-tech

  • A “builder mindset” — someone who prototypes fast and iterates
